I realized it has been a while since I have shared with you an update from the Vestry. Since we met Tuesday night, it seems like the perfect time.
First, I want to remind you who is serving on your Vestry: Kate Berry, Brian Cox, Justin Glessner, Carrie Klaus, Dennis Knuth, Jim Mannon, Harriet Moore, Terry Noble, and me. When you have the opportunity, please thank these people who have served in these difficult and transitioning times.
From tonight’s meeting, there are several things to note. First, and foremost, the Search Committee has started to meet again. As this process unfolds, we will definitely keep everyone posted. Bishop Jennifer is going to make her first in person visit with us in nineteen months on Sunday, November 7th. (Her last scheduled visit was on Palm Sunday in 2020. It was her and our first Zoom service. Darn that virus.) She and Canon Kristin will be with us that day. She will be meeting with the Vestry before the service and will be talking and sharing with all of the congregation after the 10:15 service that she will celebrate. It is time to start talking about stewardship and meeting the financial needs of the church in 2022.The Vestry has adopted the overarching theme for this year’s campaign to be Every Perfect Gift. Time, talent, treasure, they all are so very necessary for the life and work of the parish to continue. Finally, as we look ahead to Advent and Christmas, please know that Albrecht and Caroline Good and our teachers will be reaching out to our young people to help us recreate the magic and hope of the Christmas season.
As always, if you have questions, concerns or suggestions about our lives together, please reach out to any member of the Vestry. We are working with and for you.
Sending love and blessings,
