Dear St. Andrew’s family and friends,
It’s hard to believe we are already at the end of June. Many in our parish including Rev. Jen, Albrecht and Renee will be having some time away this summer: a well-deserved respite; visits with family; a slower paced schedule. We have coverage for all our Sunday worship so if you are in town, it would be wonderful to have you with us. If you are traveling, be safe and we will look forward to your return.
Given these times, I thought I would share with you some of the things that your Vestry and Rev. Jen are thinking about as we move forward. First and foremost, we are thinking about ideas for our youth and providing opportunities for their spiritual growth. Rev. Jen will be working to set a meeting time with the parents of all our children to get their thoughts and input and to talk about possible pilgrimages and mission trips. She is hoping to fit that in before school starts in August. Stay tuned. Brian Cox, our Junior Warden, is putting together a list of work projects that he hopes individuals and/or families might sign up for over the summer. If you have noticed things that might need some attention, please let Brian know. Once the list is completed it will be posted in Hamilton Hall and printed in the newsletter. Finally, we are talking about some “tweaking” to our signage. We want to be sure all people know they are welcome at St. Andrew’s. We will be putting together a small display in the parish hall and we all would welcome your reactions and any questions.
Finally, our prayers, thoughts and best wishes are with all who are traveling. Please get in touch with me, Brian, or any member of the Vestry if you have any needs, questions, or concerns. Our church office is closed this week but will reopen next Tuesday.
