Thoughts for the Easter Season

Dear Saint Andrew’s family and friends,

Our Lenten season culminated Sunday with a beautiful celebration of the resurrection of our Lord. For many it has been a season of preparation. For some, 40 days without “chocolate” and still for others a time of hope that this world that has been so disrupted by a virus for the past year, might soon be returning to a new normal. For me this Easter has brought new-found joys. I can feel it with the emergence of daffodils, peonies, and yes, even the dandelions. I have seen it in the expectant faces of children hunting for eggs, and in the smile of my 96-year-old mother as she was called to dinner with visiting family. There are so many ways that God shows himself to us each day if we only take the time to see and feel his presence.

As we move ahead to Pentecost, I hope each of you will experience many reminders of the love of God and the many blessings shared with each of us.

Happy Eastertide,

Sue

Prayers and Reflections for the Easter Season

We have heard that the daily reflections and scripture readings provided during Lent were appreciated. Those of us writing them have also found it an enriching experience and have decided to continue. The meditations are written by persons from Saint Andrew’s, Gobin UMC and Beach Grove UMC. The daily meditations will be in the newsletter each week and go from Wednesday to Tuesday, except for Sunday. Whether you enjoy these every day, or as the Spirit moves you, may this resource continue to bring you spiritual food for the journey.

Non Food Pantry Latest

Saturday, April 24
• Noon to 3:00 p.m.
There will be a drive through distribution and no lunch. Kate Berry is coordinating the distribution. We are very grateful to Martha Rainbolt, Carl Huffman, Karen Hirt Mannon, and Christiane Wisehart who have worked very hard to obtain supplies for the Non-Food Pantry. Kroger is not able to acquire enough products for us so the items are being purchased from a variety of sources. This is much more expensive. Donations to help offset this extra cost will be gratefully accepted!
