Thoughts as We Approach Holy Week
Exactly one year ago our communal “Zoom-life” began. On Palm Sunday, 2020 we gathered for the first time electronically and remotely with Bishop Jennifer to worship in a manner both strange and unexpected. Few of us imagined that we would be worshipping in that same strange way one year later. And yet here we are.
And yet springtime has begun, the grass greens, and trees soon will flower. Slowly but surely we are emerging from the dark depths of this past year. Hope returns as surely as morning light overtakes the darkness. Just as the Passion is followed by Easter’s Resurrection, so too will new energy and life arise in us and in our Parish community.
Therefore, please know that plans for our regathering as a Parish community will soon appear. As more and more of us are vaccinated, opportunities for gathering and worshipping together again soon will become available and realizable. Keep the faith. Keep praying. Keep loving, caring, and serving.
Look! I’m creating
a new heaven and a new earth:
past events won’t be remembered;

Daily reflections and scripture readings are often part of our practices for Lent. This year, you can take advantage of readings and reflections all in one place and written by persons from Saint Andrew’s, Gobin UMC and Beach Grove UMC. The daily meditations will be in the newsletter each week and go from Wednesday to Tuesday, except for Sunday. Whether you enjoy these every day, or as the Spirit moves you, may this resource be a blessing!

Book Study
The Wednesday book study on Convictions: How I Learned What Matters Most ended on Wednesday, March 10. We plan to start with a new Book Study after Easter, but no definite book or dates are set yet.

Non Food Pantry Latest

• Noon to 3:00 p.m.
There will be a drive through distribution and no lunch. Kate Berry is coordinating the distribution. We are very grateful to Martha Rainbolt, Carl Huffman, Karen Hirt Mannon, and Christiane Wisehart who have worked very hard to obtain supplies for the Non-Food Pantry. Kroger is not able to acquire enough products for us so the items are being purchased from a variety of sources. This is much more expensive. Donations to help offset this extra cost will be gratefully accepted!
