Do you live with the expectation that Christmas will be just like the movies about it on TV? All the family gathered, the tree trimmed, the food perfectly made, everyone happy and no worries in the world? Well, that’s not real life – and many of our depictions of the first Christmas are not based much on reality either. In this sermon, Father John walks with Mary and Joseph through what must have been a very stressful time, asking what we can learn about handling our own pain and stress at this time of year. This is a message calling us to deep faith and real hope, the actual substance of Christmas.
